Fibroid awareness month

We are approximately halfway through Fibroid Awareness Month! While it is great to have an entire month dedicated to raising awareness of these often painful, problematic tumors, we should remember the people they impact EVERY SINGLE DAY.

Ever since learning of my fibroids, which led to a subsequent infertility diagnosis due to their size and location, I have been following organizations like The White Dress Project, whose mission is to inform but also amplify the voices of people like me who have suffered from fibroids.

90% of black women will be diagnosed with fibroids by the age of 50, compared to 70% of white women.

That’s a whole lot of women, a whole lot of pain, and a whole lot of fibroids!
